Girls Save The World In This One by Ash Parsons
Published: April 2020
June’s whole life has
been leading up to this: ZombieCon, the fan convention celebrating all
things zombies. She and her two best friends plan on hitting all the
panels, photo ops, and meeting the heartthrob lead of their favorite
zombie apocalypse show Human Wasteland.
And when they
arrive everything seems perfect, though June has to shrug off some
weirdness from other fans—people shambling a little too much, and
someone actually biting a cast member. Then all hell breaks loose and
June and her friends discover the truth: real zombies are taking over
the con. Now June must do whatever it takes to survive a horde of actual
brain-eating zombies—and save the world.

Zoe Rosenthal Is Not Lawful Good by Nancy Werlin
Planning is Zoe Rosenthal’s superpower. She has faith in a properly organized to-do list and avoids unnecessary risks. Her mental checklist goes something like this:
She isn’t sure which college yet, but it will have a strong political science department, since her perfect boyfriend, Simon, plans to “save the country,” as his sister puts it, “and the planet and everything.” Zoe will follow along, the perfect serious, supportive girlfriend. It’s good to have her love life resolved, checked off, done.
But speaking of unnecessary risks, Zoe’s on a plane to Atlanta, sneaking off to Dragon Con for the second season premiere of Bleeders. The show is subject to her boyfriend’s lofty scorn, but Zoe is nothing like these colorful hordes “wearing their inside on their outside.” Once her flirtation with fandom is over, she will get back to the important business of planning a future with Simon. The trouble is, right now, Bleeders—and her fellow “Bloodygits”—may just mean the world to her. Will a single night of nerdery be enough?

Chaotic Good by Whitney Gardner
Cameron's
cosplay is finally starting to
earn her attention--attention she hopes to use to get into the CalTech
costume department for college. But when she wins a major competition,
she inadvertently sets off a firestorm of angry comments from male fans.
When
Cameron's family moves the summer before her senior year, she hopes to
complete her costume portfolio in peace and quiet away from the abuse.
Unfortunately, the only comic shop in town--her main destination for
character reference--is staffed by a dudebro owner who challenges every
woman who comes into the shop.
At her twin brother's suggestion,
Cameron borrows a set of his clothes and uses her costuming expertise
to waltz into the shop as Boy Cameron, where she's shocked at how easily
she's accepted into the nerd inner sanctum. Soon, Cameron finds herself
drafted into a D&D campaign alongside the jerky shop-owner Brody,
friendly (almost flirtatiously so) clerk Wyatt, handsome Lincoln, and
her bro Cooper, dragged along for good measure.
But as her
"secret identity" gets more and more entrenched, Cameron's portfolio
falls by the wayside--and her feelings for Lincoln threaten to make a
complicated situation even more precarious.

Fan The Fame by Anna Priemaza
Published: August 2019
Lainey wouldn’t
mind lugging a camera around a video game convention for her brother,
aka YouTube superstar Codemeister, except for one big problem. He’s
funny and charming online, but behind closed doors, Cody is a sexist
jerk.
SamTheBrave came to this year’s con with one
mission: meeting Codemeister—because getting his idol’s attention could
be the big break Sam needs.
ShadowWillow is already a
successful streamer. But when her fans start shipping her with Code,
Shadow concocts a plan to turn the rumors to her advantage.
The
three teens’ paths collide when Lainey records one of Cody’s hateful
rants on video. Because she’s determined to spill the truth to her
brother’s fans—even if that means putting Sam and Shadow in the
crosshairs.
Told through three relatable voices and arriving on the heels of the author’s widely praised debut novel, Kat and Meg Conquer the World, this sophomore novel is a nuanced and timely story about followers, fame, and fighting for what’s right.
If you're printing and cutting these out for kiddos, here's a different copy that fits 2 dino's per page so you can save paper! No PDF of this one.
Click HERE for PDF link of the dinosaur bracelet.
Again, if printing for a group, here's 4 per page.
Apparently there are 2 different ways to do these? When looking up how to word instructions I realized several methods involved cutting the main image (in this case, triceratops) in half and gluing it to the matching wristband end.
Originally, I was just using this bottom method where you color the dino, cut it out, snip along the dotted line and slot the slits together. Either way, they're both cute.
This YA display is all about books set during the summer!
Summer Camp, Summer Internships, Summer Flings, Road Trips, Summer with Family and Summer Adventures.
💚
Corner bookmarks were made for the different types of books on display.
For their design, I used method #1 on this WikiHow article with a small change.
At the end of step 6, I tucked in the other side of the book mark. That way, the text I had printed on would show!
